Eisner Award-winning James Kochalka is punching back with a new adventure. Ten years in the making, “Dragon Puncher Book 3: Dragon Puncher Punches Back” is hitting the shelves on September 20th and features the feline superhero doing what he does best, PUNCHING THINGS.

Kochalka weaves his quirky surreal style with characters based on family, friends, and of course his cat.

SYNOPSIS:

The world's cutest book series about a cat who punches stuff just got even cuter, because this time the dragon is a big cute baby one! Dragon Puncher’s human sidekick Spoony has got his fuzzy monster pajamas and a new and improved extra-long spoon, so he’s ready for anything. But Dragon Puncher mistakes a big ball of yarn for an evil dragon, which attracts the attention of a real dragon. Still, it doesn’t matter who started it. If you punch Dragon Puncher then Dragon Puncher punches back! 

Why we like it: 

While it definitely aimed at younger readers it does have a kooky b-movie vibe to it that we can appreciate. The tone is fun and light-hearted which harkens back to looney comics and cartoons of our past.
